How to use

Find and Discover
The map encourages families to look at nature, history and park landmarks using all the senses: look, listen, touch and smell.

Design your own trail
3 trails: Nature, Magical and Rail & River link landmarks together but you can make your own trails. Maybe do a tree trail and find new trees to add to the story map.

Create a story
A story can be told about anything and everything you see, feel, touch, smell, taste or hear. It can be in any form – a book, a poem, a picture, a sculpture, a photograph, a film. And it can be in any language including signs and movement. Watch our How to make up a story guide on our Youtube channel.

Share your story (until 5th November 2020):
Inspired to create a story from your park visit? Email your story to to enter a free prize draw. Be sure to include in your email: your name, your age and your postcode (state Phoenix if a resident). Adults may scribe for a child who can’t write/draw their story themselves. Full Terms and Conditions below.

Prizes to be won:

1) TDLP are offering a small group Story Party in Beckenham Place Park. A storyteller will take a small social bubble group on a 1hr story adventure as part of a birthday or celebration or simply for fun. A voucher redeemable until September 2021.

Terms & Conditions:

  • The prize draw is free to enter
  • Entries must be emailed in from the account of a person aged 16 or over on behalf of the child entering.
  • Entries must be received before 5pm on 30 September 2020
  • It is acceptable for an adult to scribe for a child who can’t write down / draw their own ideas, as long as the story only contains ideas that are the child’s.
  • Tea Dance for Little People and Lewisham Council reserve the right to amend the prize draw end date at any time.
  • The draw is non-competitive and the winners will be chosen at random.
  • The draw for the Samsung tablet will be made first, from entries from Phoenix residents only, before combining all
    entries to draw the remaining prizes randomly.
  • We will notify each winner via the email address supplied shortly after the prize draw end date.
  • Prize winners will be announced on the TDLP/storymap website and on social media after winners have been notified.
  • Prize winners will be responsible for collecting prizes from Beckenham Place Park if it is not a voucher that can be emailed.
  • No part of the prize is exchangeable for cash or any other prize.
  • You must be aged 17 or under to enter this prize draw.
  • If prizes are not used by their specific expiry dates, they cannot be re-issued.
  • The draw organisers’ decision is final.
  • By submitting your story, you agree to your submission being shared on Tea Dance for Little People and Lewisham
    Council social media platforms and websites.
